Animal Safe Migration members and volunteers have held full time weekly clean ups Saturdays in Austin since 2021. We have also held additional sponsored weekday clean ups with conscientious businesses and their employees that care enough to do more than talk about their community and the wildlife. After doing clean ups with us many realize a clean jogging trail is not the same as a clean waters edge.
Resident and migrating wildlife, water life nurseries and foliage, a healthy food chain for wildlife growth all depend so greatly on the waters edge for their everyday survival.
Where people see us picking up trash and debris from the waters edge we see real life moving in and changing in the areas we have worked. We focus on the very hard to reach, hard to see, most entangled, most neglected and most disgusting part of the water ways- *the entire perimeter of water ways 10ft inland and 15ft out from the waters edge. This area is the most affected by constant criminal debris flow, raw human waste and horrible political agendas trying to force large money making projects.
Currently our focus has been to identify problems and solutions working on restoring Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin, and other sections along the Colorado River. Join us and take responsibility for your community where ever that is on any water way.
We have developed a system and solutions. Where ever you are we can implement real change and improvements that are effective and easy to maintain. If you don't think you're affected take a look at our City of Austin water supply inlet and garbage images. These images cannot show you easily the up close and personal long standing filth we see daily on our clean ups. You have to join us and see it in person to get the true visceral affect of what is being neglected and covered up by just keeping the trails clean.
In addition to organized clean ups, we specialize in conservation easements, and habitat restoration. People, businesses and food supply can coexist with wildlife. No one needs to lose their land or rights to do this. We have solutions through conservation easements that help people still enjoy and use their land while being good stewards.
Conservation Easements may be put on any type of property. As a homeowner, business owner, or land owner you can put a conservation easement on your property with us, that will run with the land and help ensure safe migratory pathways for wildlife. We can clean up and coexist through our conservation easements. Contact us and discuss Animal Safe Migration's Conservation Easements.
We have removed many tons of trash from Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin and the surrounding waterways hard to reach perimeters edge. Help us do more. Reach out get involved.
